Hhhmmm

If I hadn't read the description, I would have voted this down. But the description makes sense. With that idea in mind, this piece is brilliant. I like things like this. But sometimes, context is important. Otherwise a work of art can be lost on unappreciative eyes/ears. Nice work :)

WizMystery responds:

I should do this with all of my pieces... Hell, I'll provide the whole written statement once I submit this to IB.

Thanks for the input!

Nice

Before I even read the description, I thought "Chopin". Listened a few times. It's a nice piece. I would like to hear a long piece like this. This was brilliant, but too short. Still gets 5/5 and 10/10, though.

Rampant responds:

Chopin! (I hope I can eventually match the awesomeness of the "Raindrop" prelude!)

I'm very glad you enjoyed it! My next few (2 through 4) are also less than 2 minutes long, but by #6 I hope to be producing longer and more complex etudes!

Thanks for your feedback, and thanks for listening :)

Excellent

I like the jazzy elements after 1:53. Nice touch. It's like metal jazz.

A7X

I agree with RacinFreek2448. This DOES sound like A7X, of which I am a big fan. Very nice rendition of N64 song. Keep up the good work.

Good Playing

Nice playing, but you could have used different chord progressions instead of remaining in the original key most of the time.

DragonX016 responds:

This is a dulcimer-it's simple. It stays in the same key until re-tuned. Hence why most people play guitars instead. I teach guitar, and I use this as a break-in instrument to get people going on guitar because it's easy to sound good on. My lady wants to learn guitar so I had her messing with this thing :P

Not bad

I like it, and although I'm not a fan of pop music, I am familiar with the source song because in my opinion, it's a decent song. You did capture the essence of the song but I felt like it was lacking umph. You could have added some subtle brass in the background on the verses, and on the chorus, crank the brass up to compliment the lead with some counterpoint. I liked it, but it could be a lot better.

Ironclover responds:

Thanks for your suggestions!

Splendid

I haven't played Shadow Of The Colossus, but to me this sounds like a tune that could be played for a respected foe. An enemy that you understand and you know understands you. A hunter and his prey. Giving thanks for the food that Brother Deer has provided you. You know what I mean?

MarkySpark responds:

Thankyou kind sir, Yes you must play it. It comes out on PS3 in September.

Nice Work!

I thought I'd return the favour and review your work. This was a nice little composition, friend. It sounds like an introductory credits screen for a movie I'd like to watch. If I translate this music into an actual image, I think of a young girl at the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea. Her hair is blowing in the wind and you can tell by the look on her face she is enjoying the breeze and the smell of the ocean. If you didn't know better, you would think she could fly...

Throughdarkness responds:

Thanks for the input! Yeah once all was said and done, I pictured it in my head as a title screen song for some type of RPG. Definitely not just any RPG but fitting for a dramatic/emotional game. Idk, I guess it's just fun to think about it.

Awesome

I greatly enjoyed this. Good musical progression. Keep it up :)

BlazingDragon responds:

Thanks man! I'll definitely check out some of your stuff.

Brilliant Work

I greatly enjoyed listening to this piece. I myself am new at this site, but there appears to be an abundance of talent to share works with.

You have really created a good piece of music here. With better mastering and audio production, and maybe better VST's, this will be a godly piece. You have tremendous talent, friend. Keep up the good work. And if you don't mind, could you review something of mine? :)
