I love, love, LOVE classical piano. I attempted to compose a nocturne... well, it's still an unfinished pile of papers... :p

Now, this nocturne you've written is very, very nice. There isn't much more I can expound upon because you've executed it so well. Keep up the good work (:

BlazingDragon responds:

If you want to write a nocturne, try looking at one by Chopin and try analyzing it. A lot of times, nocturnes are VERY simple and repetitive left hand patterns with melodies in the right that emulate the human voice. They tend to be highly ornamented and chromatic but also singable.

For this piece, I listened to Chopin's C# Minor Nocturne (#20) and modeled the left hand accompaniment after that. Then, I came up with the basic chord progression and came up with a sketch of the melody. For form, I basically made it ABA with some elaborations and an ending. This process might not work for you, but analyzing the Chopin gave me a lot of great ideas.

Thanks for the review!

This piece took me back to a time when I was about 12 years old. It reminds me of times when I was really into books. I read a lot of great classics during that time. The Hobbit, Treasure Island, Peter Pan, The Hunchback, etc. Great American classics. I don't know why, but this music immediately sparked a reminiscence, and brought a genuine smile to my face.

Musically, you've written a wonderful little melody that makes a lot of sense. It says what it wants, and doesn't confound it with unnecessary extras.

Wonderful music, friend.

BlazingDragon responds:

Reading is such a wonderful pleasure. I'm glad this was able to bring back fond memories for you! Thanks for the review.

I started the song all like, "Yes, a singer finally!" Listened in anticipation to the first few seconds. Then she sang. I shivered with chills. Then the slow part started and she sang like a siren... and I wept. Brilliant song, my friend.

lhceist41 responds:

Hey Dude! Good to hear from you again ;)
Yeah, the beginning was not the best, she was very excited about that and we had to do the recordings a lot of times. But all in all we're satisfied with the result.

Thanks for listening and weeping to our song! :)

Definitely like it. Once again, if it had vocals, god I would be throwing money at the screen. Shit, that wouldn't be enough, I would cut myself and toss my blood at the computer. Lol.

lhceist41 responds:

What if i tell you that the Lyrics are done and we started already recording the vocals? :)

Thanks for listening dude!

Very nice. Reminds me of KSE (my favorite metalcore band). Wish it had vocals :) Anyway, very awesome song, brother. \m/

Thanks for listening dude.
Didn't ever expect another Review on this song but thanks for that :))

Glad you liked our stuff!

Splendid!

I wanted to return the favor (; This itself is a beautiful piece. I don't write reviews to simply say back things that people have been generous enough to say to me, so don't think that's the case. I don't usually look in the "Video Game Music" genre, and I think this belongs in the "Classical" section, but regardless, this is an amazing piece of musical imagery. I can see exactly what you describe in your narrative. Perhaps we can collaborate sometime. Keep up the good work (:

AshleyAlyse responds:

Aw, your review made me smile. :) Thank you very much! Yeah, I started to put my songs into the video game section because I get more people asking if they can use them in their games, haha.... and I'm sort of a sucker for recognition. :P I would love to collaborate sometime! Feel free to send a message my way anytime. :)

Congrats

This is one of those gooooooooood trips. Reminds me a lot of Pink Floyd. Congratulations on winning 1st Place. (:

uint responds:

Actually, once I recorded the guitar part and listened to how it sounds with the song, I thought of Pink Floyd too. It feels friggin' awesome to hear "your music reminds me of Pink Floyd" from someone other than me though.

Thanks and congratulations to you too! Hopefully we'll compete again sometime.

BLOWWWWWWWWWW

To FaeryTaleAdventurer: "Blow" is one of the slang words for cocaine. See the Johnny Depp film, "Blow". Lol.

Anyway, this song is brilliant. You definitely should do more 19th songs with hilarious lyrics. It just... it WORKS. (:

JPRixdorfer responds:

lol!

Thanks for the nice words and encouraging me! There is a writers' forum on here after all... maybe they could do some hysterical poems for me.

Eerie, yet Beautiful.

I imagined a living doll as the girl in your description, which added an air of eeriness to the music. The music is very beautiful and emotional. Very well done, friend. (:

tofuface responds:

Thank you very much! (:

Minimalistic (Less is more)

This is wonderful. Whenever I hear subtle pieces of music that sound as if they were torn directly out of the composer's soul, I know I'm listening to true art. It's true beauty. Keep up the good work.

Sheodon responds:

Thank you for your comment. I'm really glad you enjoyed this piece since I'm satisfied with it too. Feel free to check out my other works too, like "Last Hero", "Prologos" or "My Rival". :)

I agree with you that it's revealing one part of the author, especially now. But hopefully these comments like this give me always a hope in my life to never give up and believe and wait, since if you are patient and ambitious enough, you'll reach everything you can. :)

Thanks again!
